Re: man whats wrong with me?
I've had good luck just cleaning them up.
Now, unless it's an AFB, I don't take them apart. I've cracked open too many carbs, only to wipe the parts off the table into the trash can when i can't figure them out. HOWEVER... I'll remove the carb, drain them by turning them till the fuel stops pouring, then fill it up with carb cleaner. Then start scrubbing the outside with more carb spray and a toothbrush swiped from the ex's bathroom. Rinse it with clean carb spray, drain some of the stuff out, install, and fire up. Seems lame as heck.... but it works on a lotta semi-dirty carbs. |

Re: man whats wrong with me?
I`d clean it.Why else would it be sticking?Gas sucks these days.It can`t sit in a carb more than a few monthes without running without plugging up the carb, causing need for a teardown.

Re: man whats wrong with me?
Try a few weeks, you should see some of the boat motors i see. You leave them sit for more then a month and you start having problems

Re: man whats wrong with me?
My suggestion is If you dont run it much, fill the tank with high test and STP gas treatment and run it until you flush out all the low octane stuff. High test has the best stabilizers available in it. The gas companies had to put them in, of else pump out the stuff every 3 months at a gas station. I have always has great luck with this, as I do not winterize by draining any of my equipment.
Also, try to keep the cab shaded from the direct sun or keep windows open so it doesnt get real hot in the cab. That heat in the cab will rapidly break down gas making it a mess for your fuel system. It also weakens the octane rating of the fuel. Just my experience. Frank
