Remove 6" lift kit

Hey, I'm looking at a 1979 3/4 ton Suburban that has a 6" lift kit on it. I was wondering how big of a pain it would be to remove the lift. I'm guessing I'd need to get four factory shocks. Other than that, are there any gotchas? I would think the brake lines may end up too long, but that's not too big a deal and could be fixed later. What do you think?

Re: Remove 6" lift kit

If it was done right, you will need to replace the front springs, shocks, steering arm, and drag link. You will want to make sure the transfer case was not dropped, and you will need new rear U-bolts if blocks were used. I don't think the brake lines will be too big of a problem, just make sure they are routed out of the way. I would try to see if you could find someone with a stock truck that would like to trade for your lift, and swap it all over.

With 6" the drive shafts might of been lengthened...
