Re: Playin in the snow
Awesome looking truck and some great pictures also! All of the snow has been going around us this year but I'm sure it will be here before long.

Re: Playin in the snow
Gotta be honest, only reason I clicked on the thread was because I saw it was Gene's thread, and I knew that awesome truck would be the subject of the photos.

Re: Playin in the snow
Great looking truck Gene! We woke up to 7" of snow this morning. After shoveling the driveway, cleaning off the trucks, the trailer, the sat dish, dog houses, etc, I sure as heck am not going to go playing in it! Sure hope the feeling in my toes and fingers comes back soon.

Re: Playin in the snow
Unfortunately, I de-commissioned myself a few minutes ago when I went to check the chickens who live
in the back of the property at Casa de Magwa. Slipped on the hill on the snow/ice and went "four paws up", landing on my back. All in seemingly slow motion. But, not really. Nothing long-term serious, I'm sure. But it's not going to be, "playing in the snow" or anywhere else for a couple of weeks, I bet!

Re: Playin in the snow
I used to have an old Jeepster with posi front and rear, almost un drivable in the snow, I spun that thing around many times. It was great off the road but once I hit the hiway it was a suicide machine.

Re: Playin in the snow
Great pictures Gene! Thanks for sharing. We have had snow/ice from the same storm here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Roads were a little slushy yesterday afternoon but have since froze solid. My truck is a one-leg rearend. Only got stuck once! LOL

Re: Playin in the snow
I love your truck, but I hate your snow. LOL
We are trying to bury some water line east of you, south of Fayetteville in the Boston Mountains, and this is going to grind that to a halt for awhile. |

Re: Playin in the snow
That's a beautiful truck, I love that color combo, it's about what my K5 was painted when I bought it for $2500 back in '95, with 68k miles on it, wasn't as beautiful as yours.
Speaking of playing in the snow, I was living in Broken Arrow in 2010 while attending TWS, that was the record snowfall year, I loved romping around in all that virgen powder. My girlfriend at the time worked at the court house in Muskogee, all her co-workers thought I was so sweet for driving her between B.A. and Muskogee for those couple days of snow. I loved it back there, enjoy and drive safe. |

Re: Playin in the snow
If I had a suburban or fleetside, I'd go for a two-tone also. Red and white is such a "statement."
No way I'd take my truck out in the snow....it suffered enough salt damage back in the 70's and 80's! |

Re: Playin in the snow
They don't salt my rural roads, maybe a little sand on the main roads. No way I'd take it out on salt lol.

Re: Playin in the snow
From what I've heard, Gene has a very safe and warm place to store his stellar truck for the winter.

Re: Playin in the snow
Thanks Gene, I've been making a snow globe with Cinderella's castle in it, for my niece. I just swapped your truck for the castle.

Re: Playin in the snow
Woke up to about 6 inches, then the sun came out. We now have mud and sloppy wet muddy roads. And those are the paved roads. They put some kind of red slurry to melt the ice and it gets just sloppy nasty messy when it is wet. As soon as the sun goes down we will have ice roads, with red coloring. I left Alaska to live on paved roads, but even the roads in the bush aren't this messy.

I love your truck! I've got lots of family in Lawton. They aren't as happy as you about the snow. LOL!
