Where to find the vin numbers on a 54 chevy truck and ?????

Where to find the vin numbers on a 54 chevy truck and ????? Do the numbers that are on the plate between the driver door and the post must match the numbers on the license certificate? or which number is the one that must match the license certificate? How can I verify ir the engine is the original, factory one for the truck?

Re: Where to find the vin numbers on a 54 chevy truck and ?????

I am interested in seeing what others say. As far as I know the only number is on plate in the drivers door jamb. It KILLS ME that I let my registration lapse and now I will have to go through all that crap when I had a clear title, CRAP. I don't even have a plate that matches the title being the cab was replaced when I got it. As far as I know there wasn't a single number anywhere on my truck that matches the title. I got a brand new one I figured I would stamp the number in.

LOL, I have repeatedly typed in the links to vin#'s on these threads. Nobody will use the search first so I am done linking.

If someone would pin it I would do a nice thread on Vins.
