Need wheel suggestions...

I have a 68 GMC lwb, its lowered a few inches, not sitting on the ground but with the new disc brake conversion up front my old wheels don't fit so its a good excuse to spend some money and get some new wheels. I'm kind of going for an older hot rod look, maybe not quite rat rod but something along those lines.. Maybe just rallies, maybe just steelies? I'm not sure but I thought I'd see if you guys had any good ideas, whatever wheel I get I'll probably be running wide whites on em so they have to look good with white walls. I'm not into chrome really, but if I saw the right wheels maybe I could be swayed. Pictures always welcomed!

Thanks guys.

Re: Need wheel suggestions...

I've been looking for an excuse to post some uh.....era correct wheels. Here's a wheel guide from an issue of Hot Rod from 1971 or 72.

The ones in the bottom middle (ET mags) of the first image and the top middle of the second image (halibrand) are real close to mine on the C10.

Re: Need wheel suggestions...

I have a pair of M/T Medallion wheels that I took off of a '69 Camaro, in '74. They have a polished rim, but the dish of the wheel is as-cast, with a lip around each of the slots. I have never seen any more like them, but I know they exist.

The picture titled "Winning Stud" is the wheel I have, in 14x6.5-inch diameter. Now that I have seen a picture, I know how to polish them. Thanks for the photo.

American Racing has the Ansen wheels, in 15 or 17-inch diameters.

As for my truck, it's just Wheel Vintiques Vette-style Rallye wheels, 15x8 up front, and 15x10 in the rear. Mine is lowered and has a disc conversion up front, as my signature shows. I stayed with the 6-lug pattern.

Hubcap?

I couldn't tell you how many days I spent scanning old mags to get these. I think I've got a few more.....Probably should have created my own thread for em.........He said he wanted to see vintage wheels................. Maybe I'll repost these in another thread sometime...It's getting late. I might try to post the rest up tonight. Or tomorrow, if anyone's interested.

Those are very similar to what I'm running. Mine are Wheel Vintiques Billet Cruzers.

I scanned all the ads out of old Hot Rod and Car craft magazines. Took a while but I wanted to try to save em before the mags deteriorated completely. I've got more wheel ads that I'll probably put up this evening.

More,

That looks like about it as far as wheel ads go! I've got tons of other ads that I've scanned that I'll be looking for an excuse to post sooner or later. A lot of them end up being used here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=229987

Check it out!
