1947 International kb1 in a s10 frame v8

So I basically picked up 1983 s10 frame
That I am putting a 1947 International body on
And stuffing a 350 in it. I am building it as a tire smoking fun toy.
I am trying to do it all for $1500.
Said and done but we will see.
I got the frame, body, motor and trans along with the steering column
And some odd ball stuff for $900
So with all the extra parts laying around the shop and all the old steel I think I should be able to pull it off.

Re: 1947 International kb1 in a s10 frame v8

So the Motor that came with it was a 305
So that went in to the scrap Pile.
And I pulled a 1969 350 out of a parts truck we had laying around
Go to find out it's bored 0.80 over and gas flat top race pistons in it
So after a quick rebuild in it went.

Next was the frame and bed the frame was cut and lengthened to fit the driveshaft
Lol that's the backward way of doing it but it worked out well and saved me some cash or a custom driveshaft.
Then the bed was mounted and the wood and beer keg gas tank was installed.

So then I made the radiator core support
And installed the 64 Mustang radiator

So I think that catches everyone up to where I'm at on the current project.

I was worried that you used your last keg but I saw the one up on the shelf next to the tires. Looks like you're good to go!

Got it looking more and more like a truck.
Got the gas tank done, the door lettering, lowered it another 2"
And found a rat hose that looked like it was made for it.

Wow, this is right up my alley! I have a buddy with a 49 KB that has been asking me to S10 frame it. Definitely subscribed!

Re: 1947 International kb1 in a s10 frame v8

Well if you do it if you have any ? Just ask man.
Had some more time to play in the shop.
So I decided to re-work the bed and recess. The keg gas tank into the bed floor to lower it level with the side of the bed rails. Them I widen the rear fenders by 3 inches to give it that wide body look from the rear, so then I needed to age the new metal so it would blend in with the old stuff so I mixed up a spray bottle with salt, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide and it took like 2 or 3 hours to get it to look this way.
The next day my brother and I went junk yarding and pick up 6 York drive compressors
For all are bagged trucks and soon to be bagged trucks.

This was the first coat
And the next one is the 2 coat and about
4 hours to get it to look this way.

Re: 1947 International kb1 in a s10 frame v8

So my goal was to do it all for $1500
With the purchase of the vehicle
Well I am at about $1590 and I still have to get the polycarbonate windshield and back window that's $130 and 2 side windows of flat glass that's $80
My no title problem is been taken care of for $100
And I need to do a Torque converter lockout and that will cost about $40
So all in all let's say I am in it for under $2,000
The first $10,000 dollars can have it, them I'll go build 3 more

It lives. This is the first time it's moved on its own power.

Great project!

There was someone on this site that was doing this up in Alaska for his daughter. Haven't seen him in a while.

Gives me ideas I can't afford...LoL!

Awesome looking IH. I've got 47kb1 fixin to be placed on s10. Retired US Marines short bed truck, still has motor pool number on tail gate, plenty of patina. Hope to be as far along as you are soon.
