Stock color of core support, gloss black?

I am repainting my core support while it's out of the Jimmy. I assume gloss black is what I should use, is that correct?

Every truck I ever saw in any junk yard had a body color under the hood. The core support, and inner fenders are a satin black.

Not exactly stock. It's getting a 68 Chevy grille and and 68 hood. But, it will look like a stock 68 Blazer, if there ever was such a thing. It almost makes me sad, the GMC was growing on me, but the hood had bad ding, and the grill was fubarred by the PO, and I had a 68 hood and grill laying around so that's what's going on it.
It will look good either way

agree with knsmodels. You can find Satin Black at most automotive parts or performance stores. Summit sells it. I purchased a can a few weeks ago when I was in Sparks NV.

Not wanting to start a debate, I just want everyone to know that the undersides of hoods are body color. If anyone has a hood that is black when you pop the hood... it is not of original factory color design.

I checked with a local guy that has two stock 72's one restored (he's the original owner) and one unrestored both trucks have semi gloss on the underside of the hood. Also the PO of my truck had painted everything he could reach with a gray primer paint...on the underside of the hood where the paint he had put on was peeling the undercoat was Black.....This is the info that I went by on my truck...Dont want a debate either but I would like to know what is correct....Thanks....Paul
