Looking at a truck . Spid help
Looking at a truck owner said it's a 307 v8 auto. Sent the spid looks like very little options . No mention of engine and I guess he didnt want me to see the vin . It's 71 c20 with 127 wb basically my question is ,how do I know it was born with a v8?

Re: Looking at a truck . Spid help
The E in the VIN with no SPID callout means 307. (E=V8 and 350 was an option, so if V8 was ordered, standard was 307, optional were 350 and 402 (in 71)).

Re: Looking at a truck . Spid help
The 4spd would be an option on your SPID. If no mention of transmission then your truck was originally a 3spd.

Re: Looking at a truck . Spid help
Please correct me if I am wrong about this. The Model number on the first line of OP's SPID says CE20934 and that number indicates that it is a 2wd V8 3/4 ton long bed fleetside.
C= 2wd E= V8 20=3/4 ton 934= long fleetside bed. ?????????
