int volt reg convertion

just finished up my int. voltage regurator converstion on my 71 c-10 i used an alt off an 83 k 10 4x4 rated for 70 amps should be penty for what i need onlything i running is an cb and cd player. i recomend that anyone running an external reg do this converstion. i noticed the differecne the min i fired the truck up (of corse it was dark when i finished) turned on the lights everything bright like its suppose to be. no flitgering lights like it was just smooth steady lights went to return the core and the dude who sold me the alt was like u put an alt off an 83 k10 on an 71 c-10 i was like yup and works great. easy to install got it in. in about an 45 mins (should have been faster if i didn't have to stop and get more wire connectors lol) i paid an total of 50.65 for everything alt wire and connectors after i turned the core in. like i said one of the best upgrades i've done yet. heres the link to how i wired it http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=119379

Re: int volt reg convertion

I got a free internal reg alt that is going in my 68 when I pull it out in the spring. Did you follow the FAQ writeup?

Re: int volt reg convertion

I do love it when you go to the auto parts store and ask for something totally different than your truck calls for, and the counter person says, "Not Going To Work".......and later on show him it did......Gotta love the "Mods" for our trucks......
