power steering adaptor pic needed

I need a picture or demintions of the adaptor to put a new model box on my 65 frame. I have the resorces to make it I just dont want to pull the box now because its cold and snowing outside. Thanks.

I'm thinking your's is like the 67/early 68 frame, which there is no adapter needed, just heat and dimple the frame where the later model gearbox bulges.

One problem no torch. I have the tools at work to make the bracket but I can't get things like that home.

You might want to rethink the dimple the frame thing. It takes more than that to get the correct demintions. Just remember the idler and pitman must swing on a paralle line. You must keep the center link level. Once you have the new PS box on the truck, what about the steering colum hook up? If you decide to use the PS kit don't forget to center up the idler and Pittman.

With the plate how do you keep the idler and pitman arms parallel? Won't the braket kick the box out? A pic would be cool.

This is my point exactly.

My installing a spacer as one of the high end vendos sells as a 'kit' , or the common...shim it with washers, you will place the steering gear box further out from the fram by about a 1/4 inch. this will stress the bolts... esp if doing the latter mentioned method. Also, when you have everything centered, to have the wheels straight ahead, you have the box turned just a tad to the right, then you are driving on the less hardened part of the worm gear, causing faster wear.
By dimpling the frame, your gear box is in the exact location that it is intended to be, and needs to be. There are no specific 'correct demintions' needed. you still bolt into the same holes on the frame, you are only making room for a bulge on the gear box.

couldn't you adjust the tierod ends to correct this, I mean your only talking 1/4" or less? I don't know thats why I'm asking. Thank you
