to buy or not to buy
Was junkyarding the otherday and found what appeared to be a 71 SWB junked all to heck. Only thing that i could see worth salvaging on it that i could use is the AC cab. I don't want the whole cab because it is shot!!! and i also got a buddy who has a 70 GMC Air cab that he sandblasted and redid and now has second thoughs about doing everything. The guy told me 100 bucks and I could take anything off the truck I needed. It's all the AC stuff inside and the part that mounts to the firewall on the engine side. I also seen its got the power brakebooster and steering gear box. Rearend is 6lug 12 bolt doubtful posi but who knows. My question is: Do the full AC units through 67-72 interchange as in I could take an AC unit out of this 71 put it in a 69 GMC air cab and then bolt the whole dang cab down to a 71 LWB? I got all these ideas but i don't know if the cabs will bolt in or what the deal is. If anybody knows and could let me know it would be very much obliged and appreciated. Thanks
