Picked up another 72 C10

Found this one locally and couldn't pass it up. Three owners with lots of documentation including the original protecto plate and dealer paperwork. Plans for now are just throw the rally wheels I have on it and learn to drive again with the three on the tree... been fun getting around this afternoon between that and no power steering! Long term it will most likely replace my poor rusty Cheyenne and get the drivetrain (gmpp crate and TH350) and other nice stuff from it as I part it out.

I'll get better pics sooner or later, but these are from today after getting it home.

Pretty basic truck, my guess is it was ordered but who knows...

Clean interior, no rips in the seat and the wheel isn't cracked!

A couple of rust spots but certainly not he worst I've dealt with.

Since I'm a document dork I was very happy to find these!

It's resting place unil I have time for tags etc...

Very nice! Looks clean. Hard to find one that doesn't have fuel tank doors cut in the bed.

Yeah, the only cutting I'm not happy about is the CD player. It's my first one with a cut dash, I'll get over it but I had to roll my eyes when i saw it. Not digging the Rhino-liner either but it'll actually be used as a truck so it'll be fine I guess.

Guy bought that truck new, walked into the dealer and said he wanted "transportation."

That truck appears to be in great shape. Great find. Have fun with it.

It would be great to hear more about that, if nothing else I love wandering through looking at old stuff.

I have seen that place on the way by, right next to the highway. Lots of complete cars, didn't know they had a yard too. I might just have to spend some time up there!

Re: Picked up another 72 C10

I've been there a few times. It's located in Gray Court.

http://www.autotraderclassics.com/cl...=&dealer=false

Never knew they had a "yard" either. His prices on cars is usually pretty high... however, it does seem his inventory changes a lot, so he might be a real haggler. I looked at a 66 Mustang he had, regular C code coupe, auto, no a/c or disc brakes, old maaco paint job, was asking 13K for it. Was a decent car, probably realistically worth 7-8K. It was there about a year before it was gone.

Drove it to work for the first time, took a bit to get tags taken care of. Didn't miss a beat! the interstate portion took a few extra minutes, over 60 it's wound up pretty good. Here's a shot with the early style caps I put on it...

Re: Picked up another 72 C10

My original plan was to ditch the 307/3OTT for a 350 crate engine and TH350 I have in storage but it runs too good to mess with right now. A few small leaks but nothing worth ripping into.

I have a set of rally wheels and a drop from a previous project I am debating on as well... but like I said it's hard to mess with something that is working so well. I guess time will tell as other projects get wrapped up the temptation may get me on this one!
