Fluid spraying out of #8, #6 cylinders
I am suspecting I have a head gasket problem, as my truck is losing coolant internally, and oil that leaked out (due to loose oil pan bolts that I just noticed, I think) over a couple days had noticeable coolant in it. I did a coolant pressure test, which was good. Then I tried to do a compression test, the first one I've done on this truck, but 8 and 6 were spraying fluid, I think fuel but it was really hard to tell. Could be coolant, but it was only those two cylinders.
Could this be due to stuck valves? I know the seals/guides need replacing as blue smoke comes out at start up, but could this cause fuel spraying all over the place? Incidentally, I think the fuel/fluid messed up the gauge. I did #2 and #4, and both those came up with about 60psi, before and after squirting oil into the cylinder. After I did #6, the gauge stopped working. Secondly, would worn guides/seals cause such a terrible reading? Or the head gasket? Im going to drain the oil as soon as I can to check it, but I have never seen white smoke. I did find the intake manifold bolts were a bit loose, but I dont think enough to cause these problems. Ironically, I just finished putting the MadElectric New System in (best upgrade yet!), and my truck is running smoother and pulls stronger than ever. I was just getting ready to finally start work on sound when I found the leak

Sounds like you have a head gasket problem (or worse). I'd at least pull the heads and see whats going on, or just pull the engine and go through it completely.

That's the way these old trucks do you. I spend enough time just keeping my DD roadworthy. I have to make time for upgrades. :: Sounds like at least a head gasket problem. Pull the heads, have 'em checked for flatness, cut if necessary. Make sure the block surface is "flat". The steam hole between #6 & #8 on SBC have a weak spot. Best of Luck. Let us know what you find

Could the fuel spraying out the cylinders be due to a valve problem? A cracked head gasket wouldnt cause anything to spray out the cylinder would it?

Re: Fluid spraying out of #8, #6 cylinders
Could be coolant and thats what I think it is because 6 and 8 are right next to each other

Yeah, I guess at this point pulling the heads is the best choice. How hard is it to do a full valve job? Or would it be better/more cost effective to just replace the heads instead? I'm assuming machining heads isn't cheap
