Nitro Vs. Hydro
I have been looking at some new shocks for my truck. Skyjacker makes hydro and nitro shocks. Which are better? This would be for a more off road application.

Re: Nitro Vs. Hydro
I actually like the ride of hydro better. To me,the benefit of nitro is in rapid cycling, such as blasting across rough terrain like off road racing. That's where the nitro shocks came from. But,who does that? I used the Heckothorn hydros with a Superlift lift on an '84 K/30 and it had a great ride. I've run more nitros than hydros on 4wds and both work fine. I guess some depends on ifit's a softer suspension or stiffer. On a softer suspension the nitros will help stabilize...reduce pitch and roll. I had stiffer springs with the hydros,so those weren't a concern and the hydros served to soften the ride.
