There a few ways... one way I like to try first is to hammer on a slightly smaller impact socket, then impact the nut off. If they are 3/4" nuts you could try hammering on a 18mm socket. Put some heat on them first to make it easier.

Good luck.

Re: hub studs nuts rounded cant remove

I personally would take my torch and slice them very carfully with the settings down as not to do any damage to other pieces and peel it with a cold chisel. if I had a plasma cutter then I would use that. if I had neither I would use my grinder grinding the nut on both sides as close to the wheel as posible with out touching it, then use a cold chisel to peel it away from the stud. All studs will have to be replaced.. good luck. PS: try the above first...

take your welder and tack on a 1/2 ratchet extension (better to use a harbor frieght one) to the lug nut. Use a breaker bar and tun off

Re: hub studs nuts rounded cant remove

Here is what I would try and in this order.

Go 2 Socket.

Here's a link. If this will fit in there, I'd use it first.

http://www.go2socket.com/

If that doesn't work or there isn't space, I'd weld on a socket or a bolt/nut and get it off that way. My dad has a welder and I am in a welding class right now so that's not hard for me to do. You may have to take it to a garage and have them do that. *A Vo. Tech center would probably do it for free as a teaching session.

The air tool idea might work, I don't have any air (impact tools) so I wouldn't choose that but it might work just fine.

Thanks for all the tips.
I'm going to print them out, for the shop.
Just now we pounded on a 12 point socket on the nuts and off they came...too easy.

you can also get sockets from snap on or the like to remove wheel locks when the key is lost they work great and come in a few different sizes

When it got to tighten with screwdriver I thought, "couldn't that be better?". Why not make that hex head as well? Allen or torx inner would be nice. You can't always get straight on it with a screwdriver

Re: hub studs nuts rounded cant remove

I've also welded an old lug nut to the (in my case) McGard wheel locks to get them off, before I learned about hammering on a socket. We had a split impact socket to remove wheel locks when I worked as a mechanic. People quite surprised how easy it was to remove the locks.
