Dummy lights to gauges?
I would bet this question has been asked before but here goes again.
My 72 has dummy light dash panel. I want to put a gauge dash panel in. I saw a post on another site that said you can rewire the harness (swap some pins) to make it work. Is this true or do you need to install the appropriate wire harness? Also what is the going price for a good gauge dash panel? Thanks in advance! |

Noticed that you're in Fredericksburg, I have the wiring harness that you need, nice and un-cut and I've labeled all the plugs. It's a fairly easy install. $30 plus shipping or you can come and get it. Sorry about the gauge panels, I sold my last one yesterday. They go for 20-25 bucks on the average.

Randy,
Thanks for the reply. Is the harness I need to replace the under dash harness or do you have to replace the underhood harness as well? Does $30 dollars for the gauge cluster buy the dash panel and gauges or just the bezel. That sounds to good to be true!! |

A complete used gauge cluster goes for 20-25 bucks, that's complete with gauges and bezel. They don't wear out like most parts so they are a dime a dozen. I don't have any under the hood harnesses, just the in-cab harness.
Sorry, mis-read. I don't know if you have to replace the under-hood harness, seams like you would but I'm not 100% sure. Last edited by Randy70C-10; 01-15-2004 at 01:15 PM. |

I talked to guy here in the Fredericksburg area that has a couple of 67-72s. He wanted to sell one to me for 200. He said he would put a new bezel on it.
I thought that sounded high. Where would be a good place to look? Post it here? |

A new bezel costs about 50 bucks. 200 for a gauge cluster with new bezel is high! Heck, I'll do that and sell you one for half price.
