Re: Wow Lots Of Trucks Being Crushed..Not good

wow. there are a lot of trucks there, and it's a shame that some are going to be crushed. Kinda hope that some people go and get some parts if not whole trucks.

I really like that panel truck from what I can see.

Bump. Save as many as you can! That's a dirt cheap price. Dang I wish I lived closer.

Re: Wow Lots Of Trucks Being Crushed..Not good

This is what my wife doesn't understand.

Every truck I see that's pre-1980 I just want to buy,
clean up, primer, and put in storage.

It's an investment, right?!

It breaks my heart to think we know how scarce these things are going to get, unlike the guys in the 30s-50s who didn't think about customizing these rides 50 years later, and yet we are still destroying them.

Tear down some crappy buildings or something. Stop killing beautiful trucks.

A tired warrior of the 1980s in a world of low profile tires, front wheel drive, and plastic bumpers, where people stay in their houses until snowplows move the offending substance from their paths, too helpless to travel without AAA and chains and salt, clearing their windows with longhandled brushes while gently stepping around in the snow trying to stay nice and dry.

Re: Wow Lots Of Trucks Being Crushed..Not good

You are awesome for posting this!! I am only 4hrs from stony and have had ZERO luck around here finding parts for my 68, I am going tomorrow if he gives me an appointment, just got off the phone with his mom, probably grab 1 or 2, looks like he has a few. Wish I had room and cash for all of these! I will try and get lots of pics to post on here, don't have room either, but if I spot a 5 window.... pretty much have to make a 2nd trip back

Re: Wow Lots Of Trucks Being Crushed..Not good

That 1960s vintage Carryall (Suburban) is worth some $$ if it has good interior components and glass. I had a 1960 I used as a winter beater when I had my 63 split window as a teenager - more fun than the vette to drive. Usually, great white north vehicles are very rusted - can't tell much from the pic. All junkyard trucks in Tucson have been completely stripped. Still can buy some rust free but dented squares for $2-$3K, but you guys all know that the restoration parts cost so much that getting them to look good is a money loser (kinda like women spending money on decorating a house)
