securing the hood

Has anybody done this on our trucks?
What would be the easiest way to do this? (other than a chain )

Re: securing the hood

In the help you center at most auto parts stores there should be a universal hood latch kit. One piece bolts directly to the hood, the main section with the cable runs into the cab, and has a knob you pull out on the "open" the hood, and push in to "lock" the hood.

I once snag one out of a '61 that I got some parts off of some years back, then found it new for about $10 new.
