Rear Axle Brake Line Fittings

I'm replacing rear wheel cylinders and hard brake lines on the '72 4x4 in my signature. The replacement hard brake lines (that run from the "T" on the differential cover to the wheel cylinders) have 1/8"? diameter thread on the "T" end rather than 1/4"? diameter thread of the old ones. So my local auto parts store sold me the brass adapters pictured, but they won't screw into the "T" because the unthreaded head seems to be too long.

1) Is an adapter the right way to go here and if so where do I get one that fits?

2) I would be okay with replacing the "T" and rubber line up to the frame if I knew of a source for one with the correct thread size and length.

I take it yours looks like this, except w/1/4" fittings instead of 1/8"?....Pic is for reference only....My brakelines are obviously too short....6-weeks and Inline Tube hasn't remedied the problem...

Anyways...mine would have worked out fine as far as fitting sizes go...I did locate a bunch of different brakline fittings (for my frints) at my local custom hydraulic hose guy!

My '71 Blazer has the "T" on the axle tube the same as your '70 pickup, but my '72 pickup has it on a bracket under one of the top differential cover bolts.

i'd go to a different store /try NAPA they shopul have the proper fittings you need// also try a hardeware store

That adapter you have is for flare nuts too attach to. Just go to NAPA or some other parts store and buy the size/length brake line you need. This line will already have the fittings you need on both ends. I think the length you need is around 34". Just measure from the "T" fitting to the brake cyl. & take your old fitting with you. This will only cost around $8 or so & be done with it.
