Putting '70 fenders on a '67 c10. Bad idea?
I have a Chevy c10 half ton. Both front fenders have rusted and dents. There's a 70 c10 down the street a guy is parting out that has two fenders in good shape. But each fender has space for a reflector ... which isn't on the '67.
Will I be devaluing the '67 if I put '70 fenders on? Or does it make a difference? Any input is appreciated. |

You would also need the core support, grill and hood to make the swap. In my opinion, it would be easier to pic up a couple used, NOS or reman. fenders. As for devaluing the truck, unless it's a heavily optioned original, your not hurting a thing.

Like Bishops Trucks said, you basically would have to swap the whole front end. I personally would not do that. '67-68 fenders are interchangeable but the '68s have the reflector.
Again, personally I would keep the '67s as they are unique to any other year.

With a truck of this vintage, value is a highly relative thing. For someone who's looking specifically for a 67, it might devalue it or make them pass on to the next one. In general, unless you're building a show truck, it's going to be hard to get more money out of the truck than you'll put into it. The moral of the story is: Build it the way you want it, and enjoy it.

Good idea. Thanks for the feedback. Side question: I want to put in a wood bet kit AND have the truck repainted. Should I do one before the other?

In my humble opinion -
Get the wood bed, cut and test fit everything then remove. Paint the truck without the wood in place. You can even work on staining and sealing the planks while you wait for the truck to be done. |

If you're going into some paintwork- getting marker light holes filled in and done proper would make sense. That makes sense to me, but I have been know to be senseless at times.

Do you want 67 fenders? I have a contact here that has a lot of C10 parts. However not sure if he will ship parts? We live in NorCal.

Yes, I need 67 fenders. But I live in Oklahoma. Going to keep looking around here probably. There's a Classic Chevy store in town that sells reproductions of everything but they're pretty pricey. Would prefer something salvaged and original.
