72 Daily Driver

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures. I recently purchased this truck after looking for sometime. Since I do use it alot to take to work..I wanted the creature comforts of air, heat, etc. I didn't mind doing some small stuff but, didnt' want to get into a large build. This truck was just finished by a guy out of Omaha. Fresh frame off build. Had less than 200 miles when I got it. Most everything is new on the truck.

Some highlights...
100% Frame off 4 year restoration.
Rebuilt original 350 V8 and Turbo 400 trans
4 corner air ride system with Firestone bas
Factory Tilt Column
Factory Tach
20" Coys all around. 20 x 8 front, 20 x 10 rear.
Ice cold Air Conditioning

I just re did the exhaust. It came with stock turbo mufflers. Changed over to Flowmasters and re routed the pipes so that they barely show behind the tire.

I think this truck needs a review Its not a 1969--72 truck frame cus of the center Carrier bearing Look at it.Its the one they used from 1960--67 mabey late 68.Did he swap frames to get the ladder bar set up from a 1967 just wondering

Couldn't you use the old style bearing carrier on the 72 frame? How can you tell by looking that it's a 68 or earlier? The only difference I know of is the power steering box dimple on the driver side. Are there other differences?

He said it was hand built. Not sure it's a numbers matching build?

That is super looking truck! I can't imagine how deep you had to dig to buy it. That looks like a first class restoration though. Thanks for sharing the pics.
Oh and WELCOME to the board!

Re: 72 Daily Driver

I can't take ANY credit for the build. The guy did most of the work himself. Truly a homebuilt truck. . I'm only working out the small kinks...and personalizing it. Next stereo(without cutting the dash), maybe a high torque starter, maybe a smaller steering wheel.

Yes...I drive it..although my office is about 10 min from home...via surface streets. It sits in the garage on wet days though.

Ahhh...ok yea I'm about 30 miles out and the people here in San Antonio cannot drive but I won't even get started on that. I'm cursing 2 minutes into my daily drive everyday lol...Beautiful truck though....
