Anyone have a pic of a 67-72' 6 cyl air cleaner???
Hey guys, my 72' 250 motor 6 cyl truck is getting a make over with a power brake booster being added, and of course I have to change my existing air cleaner because it will no longer fit with the large booster being in the way, does anyone have a photo of what air cleaner I need to look for? I know earlier models had oil baths that mounted over the valve cover, a photo of a Stock air cleaner (preferably) that would accommodate the booster is what I'm asking for, but an attractive after market one would be okay too, and photos of mounting/support brackets would be a big help. Thanks in advance!

Here is a picture of an off-set air cleaner I saved from some one else's previous post.

Re: Anyone have a pic of a 67-72' 6 cyl air cleaner???
This should help a lot. It is for the 71-72 G vans. In 72 the G-10 250 I-6 used the same P/N air cleaner (#1) as the 72 K10 250 I-6. So being as the 71-72 K10 had power brakes standard this illustration should be very close overall. Here are all the group numbers if you want to do a line item search for part numbers.

The offsets are pretty rare.I've seen only a couple. There just weren't many 6 cyl trucks equiped with PB.

Here is one on a 68. No snorkel, and strangely enough, no power booster.

Re: Anyone have a pic of a 67-72' 6 cyl air cleaner???
That engine looks like a 216 or early 235,judging by the valve cover and intake.
Pretty sure they quit making those early 50's..

Re: Anyone have a pic of a 67-72' 6 cyl air cleaner???
Actually, I pieced one together yesterday, with the exception of the support rod, so I'm off to the local ("pick a parts") junk yards.

My 67 was the same way. Offset oil bath air cleaner and no brake booster.

Re: Anyone have a pic of a 67-72' 6 cyl air cleaner???
I used a booster from a '80s Chevy van. It doesn't have that bracket and bellcrank on the back. With a small spacer it bolts flush up against the firewall. I do not like the look of the MC hanging out over the middle of the engine compartment.

Re: Anyone have a pic of a 67-72' 6 cyl air cleaner???
I have 2 different types. Well, 2 and a half, actually.
This is not a very good picture of this kind, but it's different than what's been shown: But if you use one of these smaller boosters, a regular one fits: I can't find the pictures just now, but I have a type like has been shown, but is an oil-bath, and then the top half of another one. Here's a little better picture of that first one.
