Check out this thread...http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=474772

I'll be going with the 67-72 sport bumper on my '66. Love the look!

I like the 67-72 for the rear, but I also want to know if anyone is using them on the front as well

Re: 64-66 Bumpers

Kevin, the front where the bumper bolts are totally different. I laid a 72 frame on my 65 for comparison somewhere in my build. The 65 angles back on the top. The 72 angles back at the bottom if I remember right. Anything can be done, just pointing out what I know.

Yep I know the frame horns are different but I figure if I'm might use a different rear bumper what matching bumper would work, based on what I have running around in my head a 67-72 front bumper would require a lot of cutting and welding to get it right and working but at this point I got a lot of time.

The 67-72 rear bumper really looks great, but I never see anyone running a different front bumper.

This guy is the only one I have seen running anything different

Re: 64-66 Bumpers

I wonder what a 64-66 front bumper turned upside down would look like?

Cut the frame horns off and swap them. Maybe a photo shop guy could do it to any idea you come up with..

I think that could be accomplished pretty easily.

I am surprised that no one seems to be using something different for a front bumper.

I have people tell me my bumper is upside down all the time. I even got into a "no its not-yes it is" pissing match with my boss, and made him get under the truck and check how it mounts to the frame horns....he swore somebody installed the bumper brackets upside down until i showed him how it mounted to frame

I like the 67-72 bumper for the rear

What I'm looking to see if anyone has made a custom front bumper or has something they are using that works well with these trucks other than the original front bumper.

So far the Factory made bumper seems to be the one that everyone uses.

I think it is as long as you have the 67-72 brackets, I'm sure some one will comment and let us know.

They're both aftermarket 64-66 bumpers. Takes a great deal of eyeballing, and triming. Don't use original bumpers! They're alot thicker, and harder to cut with a cutoff wheel.
