what ACTUAL color is my interior?
1970 gmc. all i can find is it called green. but there is never just one green... and most of what i see is a more olive type of green.
im looking to replace the dash pad, arm rests(think the visors will clean up good) and probably a seat cover for a good bench i just picked up that is the wrong color. i could always go with that black kit from lmc, but im just not sure id like it with my odd light green color interior. and it seems as though lmc only has the one shade of darker green?! any brilliant ideas? |

I think there's some good paints for plastics these days. They're supposed to be pliable. Not sure how they would hold up but if you were to post in the paint and body forum you would get some answers. They have some savvy guys over there. We call that aqua. If you can't find repro or good used parts in that color your best bet is to go with having a matching dye made up. good classic car interior vendor nay already have it mixed. You could probably have a seat cover made in original fabric or buy it from SMS.

Re: what ACTUAL color is my interior?
so brothers seems to have the aqua(which is what i kind of thought) seat cover and carpet, but it seems as though no one is reproducing the armrests or dash pad... this could be a bit more difficult then i figured.
at some point someone busted/cut the armrests off my doors and just left the cut end of the bolts sticking out of the doors. havent even tried getting that out yet so im sure that will be interesting. i suppose about the only other thing that wouldnt look half bad with that aqua besides black, would be a light tan/saddle color?! i was really looking to just put all aqua stuff back in it. ugh. appreciate the input though guys. thanks! |

Re: what ACTUAL color is my interior?
I come across aqua stuff occassionally, have even sold some myself in the past. Try finding turquoise though. Nearly impossible. I used the spray can vinyl dye on mine and it turned out pretty good. I was able to find the right color code by using a similar year GM car with that color. Sometimes even the dyes are not listed for all the original colors for these trucks, but GM used the same stuff in the cars.
