Nice

I would just get the pump working again and use it for a fire truck. Would be handy around our place, and with the short wheelbase and weight on the back it would go just about anywhere you needed to go even without 4wd.

I agree, that's a nice truck to leave as is. Another member just posted it not to long ago I believe.

Hard to put a price on "factory freshness". There is no other way to achieve unrestored originality if assembling a truck from parts. I know, to build a "survivor" is a conflicting idea in itself, but where else can suitable parts be found?

The seller states "The cab is the same as a standard pickup" well that's not entirely true . The floor is lower on these larger trucks and the firewall has a welded brace around the firewall opening to the trans tunnel. Nice looking floor matt but that wont do you any good either , column , wiring harness complete front end except hood are all different. Its not a bolt on deal without some cutting and welding. Then you have the big hole in the roof to deal with !

It's cool but it's days as a piece of fire equipment are over. If I had it I would turn it into a motorcycle carrier. In it I would carry a 39 knucklehead and a triumph bonneville. But then again if I had that much money I would just quit work!

Even put a camper on it or something would be okay, but not make it into a lowered C-10

I don't have the money for it right now, but I was actually getting interested in it as a private fire truck until I read that the apparatus was no longer functional. I've been thinking about retiring from the local VFD and just staying home and protecting my own property.

It would be a damn shame to cut up a nice old medium duty like that
