Does anyone have the complete z-bar assembly for a big block '71 ? I have been looking for a long time with no luck.

Re: Big Block Z-Bar ....
Not to highjack the thread, but is there a difference between SBC & BBC z-bars?

What is one and what does it look like? I might have one if you can show me a picture or explain to me where it is at.

Re: Big Block Z-Bar ....
Billsbowtie has one for a small block but said it will not fit a big block. Thats the reason I started this thread. If there is no differance I will take what anybody has. Just let me know... 72army, look in parts for sale, billsbowtie has a picture of one. If you have one I will take it.

Re: Big Block Z-Bar ....
im told they are not different, but if you don't change the bracket on the frame it won't work. i just did a big block swap with a stick. i used a 6 cyl z-bar (had to cut a little off the end, has no effect on function) with the 6 cyl push rod from the pedal (had to file the back a little to clear the header, can't even see it on the truck) and you can modify the pivot ball bracket by moving the ball. i'll see if i can get pics for you. a correct big block pivot ball is pretty hard to find. Devin

Re: Big Block Z-Bar ....
Thanks fast dev, I would welcome pictures if you can get some. When you say change the bracket on the frame, do you mean move it back or swap with a differant year ? Appreciate your input.
Thanks, Jim

Re: Big Block Z-Bar ....
sorry for the crappy pics, i'll get better ones, i'll also take some pics of the factory big block stick truck i have but that will have to be over the weekend. for now heres what i got. pic 1 is of the modified pushrod. pic 2 is the modified pivot ball. this is from a small block truck, grind the weld off the back of the ball then you will have to grind on the bracket to get it to fit on the big block, then bolt it to the motor and put the z-bar in. mark your bracket and drill a new hole for the ball and weld it in from the backside. this is using the correct big block towers also. Dev.
