heater differences 60-66

Anybody know if the heaters are the same for a 61 and a 63?
The underhood parts, not the controls. Heater core box, heater core, etc.

As long as they are both the same style heater, then yes they are the same. By that I mean there are two basic style heaters, the deluxe and the recirculating. The recirculating has everything in the cab under the dash. The deluxe has the heater core and the fan in the engine compartment.

Thanks Captain. That's what I needed to know.
I couldn't find a whole lot of 60-66 heater info out there. Especially this time of year

Re: heater differences 60-66

I found that 60, 61 firewall type have one hose coming in through the top, and the second through the front of the unit. While the later models had both hoses coming in through the top.

Re: heater differences 60-66

According to GM parts book the heater core is the same 60-63. They have a water valve on them. 64-66 has no water valve the control cable activates a flap in the cover of the airbox.
