Acc. Pedal ?
This has been asked before, I'm sure. I want to get rid of my floor mount gas pedal and linkage on my 70, and go to a 71 on up cable type. Is that a direct bolt-on?

It's not even close to a direct bolt on. It's not impossible, but you gotta do some work. I just swapped cabs.

I realize that I would have to do some drilling and such. I guess I should have asked if the firewalls are differant to mount this too.

What is the advantage of doing this?? Is it worth the effort?? I have a '69 Burb with a throttle rod as well.

Give me a minute and I'll see. As far as I can tell they are the same, but I didn't pull the cardboard covering the inside of the firewall.

I had a 55 Chevy 20 years ago, and installed a cable acc to it. The advantage for me was that the cable is less likely to bind up or hang open, and no bushings to ware out. Also, I found less vibration thru the pedel. Not to mention that it looks better under the hood than the rod......Also easier to clean the drivers side floor, since the pedal is up and away.

Thanks for the info. If using the stock 71-72 setup is hard to do, Lokar makes these type of things for street rods and other vehicles.

Lokar is good, as I am going to be using their column shift linkage assembly and backup light assembly. But, have you seen the price for their gas pedal assembly? $100.00 at Summit & that doesn't include the cable & Carb. bracket.
