Bamboozled by an Ashtray!
Can't believe I'm having this much trouble getting an ashtray to fill the hole in my dash. I though there were only two styles on the 67-72 trucks, I have both, neither is even close to fitting in my dash. I've got the ball bearing style and the one without. What the bloody H.E double hockey sticks fits in this opening? I believe I just added a pic with the paper clip icon but I don't see it. Hmmm.
I have been using the wife's "For Blondes Only Shampoo". Maybe it dropped my IQ.... |

How about a larger view of the dash area? Something looks strange to me.

There are 3 styles & you have the one without the ball bearings.
The style you have is usually in 71-72 trucks

Re: Bamboozled by an Ashtray!
72 Chevy C20, has a heavy duty package of some sort on it. Dana 60 axle with leaf springs. So sorry gents, thought I had my info in the signature line. I need to update that. The opening above the ashtray is for a modern stereo. The ashtray opening has black plastic guides in it as show in the picture. I'll get a wider angle view of the dash tonight if I can get off work at a reasonable hour. THANKS for the insights!

Agree with TKorinek. I have that same type of ash tray guides in my 72 Blazer.

Looks to me like you need the '72 ashtray, non ballbearing, curved slider.
