Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
I've heard a lot of folks have used boat/marine supply stores to find these parts.

Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
I just got my filler for mounting threw the bed, I got it threw Boat Owners World , now I did steal the idea off this forum. but it looked so cool I had to get one too. someone on here did a post on the filler in the stake pocket. I liked the style of the filler so I went to the local boat shop they didnt have it but I did a search and this place as I said at the top carried what I wanted.

Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
I didn't like the idea of dropping the tailgate to fill the truck (or if I had a load in the bed and was on "E" how do I fill it up?) so I did this. Just a thought.

Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
i did pretty much the same as pete6960 but used a aftermarket billet door, just cut the door and filler from a newer truck, and welded it into the box,

Here's mine.
Fuelcellguy tank (about 24 gals). Molded in late 80's Old's remote release gas lid.

Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
I used a 20 gallon aluminum fuel cell and mad custom brackets for it. For the door I used a billett locking fuel door that I purchased from the local Hummer Dealer.

Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
all i did was get a stock bazer tank & install it. i then got a "cool cap" from air ride tech. & mounted it on the back of the pass. side rear wheel housing. i just have to drop my tail gate to fill up. yo upretty much will have to do that no matter where yo decide to locate it (bed wise). i like it...
good luck! rodstored-72 |

Quote:
There are many other options for locate the filler.. top of the bed side through the stake pocket hole, marker light fill, graft an OEM or aftermarket door into the bed side, tip-out tail light.

Re: How many of you relocated your gas tank?
Blue85 & Glock....thanks.......actually got the bed back together and most of the truck is painted now....going to get the motor broke in before I put sheet metal back on.
Bskylerg - Looks like someone has a bunch of time making the inside of thier bed look very nice. Looks pretty damn perfect from the pics!! Believe me, I know the amount of time involved to accomplish that feat!!!!
