Bellhousing size?
I have a bbc and a super t-10 that i want to put together i have a bellhousing but when i ran the numbers it tells me its out of a truck so the opening on the trans side is 5 and something inches. I was reading a site called novak conversions and it said that the bellhousing opening and the front bearing retainer on the trans have to be the exact size, which is 4 and 11/16. Even though the hole on mine is larger and the trans will fit is this a problem? Has anyone else run into this?

Re: Bellhousing size?
The nose cone of the trans indexes on the bellhousing to keep everything centered. I think what you need is a bellhousing off a car such as a chevelle or camaro. You could even step up to a Lakewood

Re: Bellhousing size?
Are you wanting to run a cast iron bellhousing mounted to the frame ? If so I think 67 and earlier truck cast bellhousings have the smaller bearing retainer hole, or like mentioned a car housing, or a machine shop can make a ring to fill the gap, or some trannys have different bearing retainers available, not sure if T-10 does or not.

Re: Bellhousing size?
I was given the bellhousing for free a while ago and thought i could use it. I haven't done much in the way of manual trans stuff so the more questions i ask first it seems the less money i pay later thanks alot for the help.
