O/T Job Search...Trying to Network

This is a little off topic, but this is a great board for general information.
I'm getting out of the Marine Corps after 5 years of faithful service. I'm working on my resume and learning a few things in the process. It seems that after being a Network Administrator for the past five years, and recently returning from Operation Iraqi Freedom, I really haven't been able to meet anyone in my job market. I need to network and this is an attempt at doing that. I'm moving back to the Houston Area next month and could use some advice and help. So if anyone has any suggestions for me, job ideas, know of any job oppurtunities in the Information Technology Industry, or in general 'knows a guy' in the Houston area I would really appreciate the information. Needless to say I'm a little nervous hitting the job market, but I know I have a lot to offer a new employer and look forward to the adventure!!! Thanks,
Shawn

Wish I could help but I'm in Phx and a gas fitter so no luck. Good luck on the search.
