71 chevy good deal?
Hi guys ive been looking at a 71 chevy c/10 for awhile now and was wondering what you guys think of the price. Its all original and in really good shape. Its a longbox and was a 350 truck but the guy put a 327 in it out of a 67 camaro when he installed a big block in the car. Its an auto and the interior is very nice yet original. The front fenders are perfect, cab has one tiny hole in the floor like a pen would probably not fit through, one rocker has a finger size hole cab corners are perfect doors are perfect, there are 4 mounts that come to the outside of the cab on the bottom and 3 have rust starting, and the box is perfect. Besides the rust spots i mentioned it looks like brand new, just faded. Its all original green but has a blue fender and is missing a inner wheel well on that side. It is supposed to run and drive but the brakes dont work i forgot to see if it was disc or drum but he wants 1500 firm for it. What do you guys think.

Yah one grille shell 2 plastic inserts both bumpers an extra door extra trim extra door panels ect. I will just need a good inner fender for the passenger side otherwise everything is there.

Re: 71 chevy good deal?
$1500 is a good price for that around here. I paid Over 5k for mine and the cab had worse rust than that. But it was dead original. 1 owner and Short Step. Exactly what I wanted. So I Guess if its what you want that makes the decision for you. I like to use the "do I think theres at least $1500 worth of useable parts there worst case?" In your case I would say definatally. Clean doors and Fenders are worth thier weight when compared to buying and fitting new ones IMO.

Re: 71 chevy good deal?
Yah the floor in the cab is very solid cab corners have no rust one rocker has a small hole, ive never seen an original cab in this good of shape, being in wisconsin not many are in great shape. Im going to get the inner fender and paint that blue fender, fix the breaks and drive it. I also talked him down a bit.
