Tips for removing 1972 GMC grille?
I picked up a nice used grille at a swap meet complete with the eye brows, etc. to replace my mashed in original grille.
Any tips for process of removal? I haven't done one of these before. Thanks Bryan

Re: Tips for removing 1972 GMC grille?
Hello Jobe,
Hope this helps. Open Hood. Take the eye brows off first on each side of grill. They are mounted by push in clips and or screws, pri on them real slow and work them off as you go, you may have to slide them as well. Once these are off, at the top of the fender on the inside by the grill and rad support you will find 1 to 3 bolts, I think it is 2 bolts that will separate the top from the fender and Rad Support corner brace. At the bottom of the grill on the inside as you lay under looking up you will see 1 - 3 bolts attaching the grill to the bottom of the fender. It will be like this on both sides. In the middle of the grill at the top you will find the hood release mech and it has 4 bolts, 2 of the 4 bolts attach to the grill and under the hood release latch there is a support brace and it may or may not have 1 mounting bolt at the bottom attaching to the grill. Remove this set of bolts and the grill should come straight off toward you when you pull. The lights and hood support and brace will stay attached to the Rad Support The grill will come off with the lip attached at the top of the grill and the light bezels will still be attached. If you need these parts then you can remove them at this stage. When your new grill is ready, just push/slide it on in place and install all the bolts your removed and reinstall you side eyebrows and you should be good. Remember, install all you bolts alighning the grill and holes and then tighten them down. Have fun and again I hope this helps. I am going to PM you with a Question maybe you can answer for me? Good Luck R/

Re: Tips for removing 1972 GMC grille?
Is it any different for a 72 C10? Grille is completely loose, but the bottom of the grille is lipped under the top of the bumper. Looks like the grille goes on first and then the bumper, but is is a pain to take the bumper off.
