Opinions on new logo design

Just curious what you guys thoughts were..honest opinions please
Moving forward with a few things and thought a logo and a few tee shirts would help get things moving in the right direction......

Re: Opinions on new logo design

It reads pretty nice. I like the concept of the stylized truck. Maybe go for a little more contrast between the C-Ten and the truck graphic, even a brighter highlight coming from the bottom of the truck body would do it I think. Also consider making the front and rear of the truck a little less raked so it doesn't look quite as...nautical.

Re: Opinions on new logo design

It's nice but I'd def make the truck more noticeable . To be able to see it right away, I had to stare a bit to see it clearly

Re: Opinions on new logo design

Thanks for the HONEST imput guys. I thought it came out really well and think I am going to roll with it like it is and see how it lays out on a tee shirt. It is designed so the color of the truck can be changed in the future or if someone wanted it to match his or her own truck I can do that as well
If anyone is interested in a shirt I will let you guys know when I work out the details I am just starting to shop printers....

Re: Opinions on new logo design

Overall, the glow and bubble letters make it look dated from the 90's. The truck does indeed look like a boat. The color and the font choice for the subtext enforces a nautical image.
My suggestion would be to promote the idea of the classic, vintage, sometimes rusty, chevy pick-up through visual clues. Typography is key!

Re: Opinions on new logo design

I like it and until someone mentioned "Boat" I was going to say "AS-IS". Buttt... since it was mentioned if the truck was raised just a little to show the tops of the wheel wells and tires it would remove all doubts.

Re: Opinions on new logo design

It does have the look of a boat. Possibly move the 60-66 to the bed and define the wheel well on the front fender and it would help with the Truck theme a bit. But it does look cool and I would be interested in a shirt too.

Sign me up for a t-shirt! I like it. As mentioned the 'boat' thing, sort of, but if people know what a 60-66 truck is they should be able to tell what it is..

Cool logo, its a great start. Why are the apostrophes on the wrong side of the numbers? What do you plan to sell? Trucks, parts and stuff? What is stuff?

Re: Opinions on new logo design

my .02...

at first glance, the "C" looked like a "G". So it read G-10 to me.

Also, a straighter truck would look better. More parallel with the C-10 letters.

Other than that, awesome

Re: Opinions on new logo design

It's a solid start, some suggestions to consider:

- adding contrast between the truck and letters would provide more definition in the logo, maybe a fawn truck with the green lettering
- I see a truck and a boat, does the nose dip a tad too much?
- did you try the 60-66 in the bed and having a wheel well in the front?
- should be '60 - '66, the apostrophe replaces the "19"
- the truck is a cool stylized graphic, but maybe indicate headlights on the front
- Would be interesting to see the Chevy Bow Tie in white or a lighter green, again, it would add some contrast and make the "C" not look like a "G" at 1st glance
- Did you try a version with C-10 –*which totally messes up the design. But, I've never seen it spelled out, so it took a minute to take it in.

Nice job on the layout, looking forward to seeing another round.

Re: Opinions on new logo design

What's wrong with looking like a boat. I'd love to see a 60-66 Chevy truck boat. The earliest one I remember was a 1950 Buick sedan boat. It was shown in Mechanix Illustrated back in the 50's sitting on a lake. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. And there have been VW boats. The concept of seeing an automobile on a body of water is thought provoking!
