305 is out and on the ground!!!!!!!

I pulled out the 305 today! It is sitting on the floor in the shop. My 383 is built, ( just short block so far ) will work on it tommorrow to get the heads, push rods, intake and headers on. I am going to sand blast the engine compartment, prim it and paint it. So inbetween coats of paint I will be working on the 383. Pulling the 305 out today went really smooth. Ran into one glitch. One of the torqe converters bolts would not break loose, ended up grinding the head of it off to get converter loose. I will be takingthe tranny to the shop on Monday to get a 3000 stahhl for it and my tranny guy is going to freshen it up while he has it. ( 700r4 ) built to the hilt! I also have all my auto meter gauges installed in my dash panel, but the dash is not in the truck yet, holding off puttingthis in till I have all my wiring straighten up. I figure my truck will be down for another month while doing this, but it is sure going to be worth it. And as soon as I get the engine in and everything squared away, I am going to put in a Ford 9" with posi and 4.33 gears, running on 29" tires. I am hopeing I can braek into the 12's with this set up. engine will be putting out around 450 HP and 480 TQ. Can not wait, I am taking picture, so when I am done I will post them. But it will be a while longer.

Go to prestage.com to estimate your et from truck weight and rear wheel hp. I would estimate mid to low 13's...but in these trucks that rocks for sure!
