Cool Shipping

Hey Scott, how much do you think shipping to Tampa, Fl 33617 would be. I may need to replace my 402 and not sure which route I am going to take.

I would have to get a direct quote from Yellow Freight, but I would guess it would be similar to the 402 block w/ heads that I just shipped out to the mid-west. That was only $99...about 350lbs.

That would be going to a Business address, correct? (I think it's $149 to a residential address).

Well...I called Yellow Freight today, the girl quoted me some absurd price - $350 (and that was at a 40% 'discount').

My zip is 13901 - see what you can find on your end. I'll keep checking around here.

I don't know how the last guy got a quote of $99...must have some good connections.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Thanks

Cool Shipping

Scott, sorry for not getting back with you sooner. I checked with a couple of local shippers and also a friend of mine who hauls cars across the US and no luck. Either the shipping was going to be too much or they were not available. I had not been able to find a better deal, so a friend of mine has a new crate 454 long block for $1350 so we are putting it in this weekend.

Again sorry for not getting back with you sooner and letting you know.

Thanks....Joey

No problem! I may have someone else interested...since you asked first, thought I'd check with you.

Nothing definite yet though, if anyone else is interested.

Thanks

Just want to bring this back up top.

Anyone in the NY, NJ, PA area that might be interested, I'd be glad to do a little driving to help eliminate shipping costs (depending on how far away).

You should to talk to Ed at Mothertruckers he sends a truck up and down the east coast pretty regularly he may be able to cut you a deal and he's in Bradenton which I think is not too far from TAmpa. Just a thought.

Thanks for the heads up...finally tried their site - they had some decent rates available.

I tried a quote to Tamp, FL just for a figure...$92-$135 depending on carrier. CFI was cheapest, Roadway wasn't too bad either.

Still have this shortblock for sale also.

For a ball park price on shipping - I recently got a quote for $100-$120 to Ohio and $220 to CA. That should give some idea on price.

Need to sell this soon. Thanks.

What is the bottom line on the engine? I am in western NY, near Batavia. I could come and get it. Are you looking for any trades? Please e-mail me at jwasmus@juno.com.

I am interested in it.

Thanks
-John

This might sound like a dumb question, but some consider a short block as a rotating assembly w/o heads/induction, weather it's put together or not. Is it assembled?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
