Question Whats the best manual?

I am looking to get a manual for reference when working on my 67 swb 2wd and was wondering which is the best? Haynes? Clymer? Original Chevrolet service manual? Etc.?

I've also seen an "assembly" manual. Whats the story with it?

Re: Whats the best manual?

I have the Haynes manual and it is fine. GM, of course, is the best.

Re: Whats the best manual?

GM chassis overhaul manual and service manual are the 2 I have found to be the best.

Re: Whats the best manual?

Haynes ought to be put out of business! They're about as much use as my freakin' gramma when it comes to working on a vehicle! I bought a Hayne's manual when I pulled the head on my dad's Mazda. It had like 3 PICTURES for the whole job!!! I must have removed 1000 bolts and had NOTHING but my feable memory to help me get it all back together!

Re: Whats the best manual?

I purchased a GM service manual on ebay, do not remeber the cost, around $30.00 I have Haynes and Chiltons for other cars but the service manual is better hands down.

Re: Whats the best manual?

I have the Factory Chassis overhaul Manual, the factoryChassis service manual, a haynes, and one of the best for pics a LMC catalog. The factory assembly manual is also good and I have one.I have made it a point to collect as many manuals on these trucks as possible(68)but haven't found anything I didn't have in a while.
Hands down the Factory Chassis Service or Overhaul manual is best for info. The assembly manual has good overveiw of stuff and the LMC catalog has great IPB's.
