Another project!
After watching this truck exchange hands among friends a few times, it was finally time for me to grab the bull by the horns. I picked this up today. Its an 87 Silverado with 3/4 ton axles (4.56 gears) and some sort of small lift kit (add a leaves in the back and new springs up front). It's got some rust, but I'll fix it later.... right now I have to find an engine for it as the original owner removed it before he sold it. Not bad for $500...

Re: Another project!
LOL thats exactly what I was going to say. Thats a pretty sweet looking truck I like it. I think it would look awesome with a small lift on it and some tires and rims.

Re: Another project!
Real nice truck for $500! I never get that lucky! Looks like a 4 inch lift is already on it, so 33s would fit with no problem. ...Joe

Re: Another project!
yeah, it's got 4" lift on it already as far as I can tell. One of the previous owners had 33 inch boggers on it. How much more do I need to go to clear 35's? I'm thinking 2" shackles up front and maybe move the leaf spring perches down or a shackle flip in back. Also maybe a 1 or two inch body lift but I don't like how the fuel tank hangs down so I'd have to do some mods on that as well.

Re: Another project!
Nice find bro. Good Luck on the build this should be one nice truck when it's finished considering what you have to start with.

Re: Another project!
you dont need a 6 inch lift for 35's my buddy has a 1981 silverado and it has a 4 inch lift and it has 35;s and it has no problems once so ever of rubbing, doesnt even come close and he runs a 35x12.50 tire on his truck, so you dont need a 6 inch lift unless you want one and in that case you could run bigger tires just correcting the previous post some one else put up on this thread

Re: Another project!
well in that case, do you think I can get away with giving it two more inches of suspension lift and still use the stock drive shafts like I am now? The current set up is all springs. I would use a shackle in the front and a 2 or three inch block in the back.
