Did some 1/8th mile runs.

I had some fun with my truck tonight. Ran some 1/8th mile passes. This was a first time for me at 1/8th mile track. Kinda sucks when you have to shut it down right when it's start pulling hard. I did 14 passes back to back. Trans was fighting me. Took like half a second between shifts and spilled fluid all over the exhaust on a last pass. Best time was 8.633 at 79.74mph. I beat a Dodge car on that run. He ran 9.005 at 81.59 to mine 8.633. After I fix a trans I'll go back for some more passes.

Not bad dude!

Back in the day, my dad used to bracket race my truck, stock 3/4 ton Camper Special 50th. We were talkin about it today, he ran in the 17's at about 97mph, shifted from 1st to 2nd at 35mph and 2nd to 3rd at 55mph.

I'm thinking of buying a shift kit. If th400 pushes trans fluid through a dipstick and vent tube is that a sign of trans going bad?
