BBC question
any way to tell what motor it is besides casting number in the back or boss on passenger front? Manifolds(intake and exhaust) not original.

Casting Number or boss as you noted are the easiest ways to tell. Otherwise, get a mic out and start measuring cylinder diameters and checking the crank for stroke. Externally, there are no differences that I am aware of. This is all assuming Mark IV.
