Foglamps in 71-72 bumper?
Has anyone put foglamps in the turn signal holes in a 71-72 bumper? If so, what did you use and how does it work. I do see that Wes has a bumper for the 67-70 with foglamps built in, but I've been wondering about using the 71-72 bumper.

the clostest I could get to fill the old turn signal holes was a set of 55wt Hella driving lights.
I made the bracket to mount them in there.

Since I had a '68, I tried to use a '72 front bumper to mount fog lights in, but the support mounts were just different enough to keep me from using the '72. Regretfully, since it was nicely pre-cut. So then I got a '67 or '68 bumper, had a friend who ran a chrome shop make similar cuts in the front bumper and chrome it and then mounted foglamps in those. I had to have a machine shop turn some aluminum cone/spindles to mount the lights because of the wierd shape of the inside of a bumper, but it did work. I still have the bumper but it's now on my downed '67 Sub.
It's a great trick and looks really cool all lit up. |
