I would think it would be I believe those 67-72 crew cab body styles are very rare I can only recall seeing a few over the years and only one that has been customised.

Tough call, the crew is sweet but the Blazer is DONE...

I do like the crew cab.

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

The crew does run and drive. Has a 350/350 in it. He converted it to six lug for newer style wheels. Things it needs to be daily driven are a backglass seats redone and a shifter according to him. Most of the metal work is done but the window frames on the rear door. Although he said he would finish those for me

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

He would need to throw cash in. I don't think his truck is worth half what your Blazer is. Unfortunately as an unfinished project he may only get 25% of what he put into it, if even that.
The 6 lug is easy enough to get around, so that shouldn't be a deciding factor for you. There are so many bigger things that need to be done to the crew cab that the 5 lug swap is just a bump in the road.
The metal work on the rear window frames is no walk in the park either.
Can you find a board member that is close to the truck that can look at it and take pictures for you? That way you could at least determine if you should drive the 6 hours to check it out yourself.

Man there is a ton of work in that thing, and probly not another one in your town.
If it was me I would probly trade if he went 6k and the crew but I like working on stuff.

Not even close. Once finished the Crew will have a higher value, but right now its less than 8k from what I see.

The more I look at that crew, I'm agreeing that this guy will need to front you some cash and the crew to get close to the value of your blazer.

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

With the new pics and info....NO way I'd make the straight up swap....

If you REALLY want the crew I'd say swap with him paying 5-8K cash on top....

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

I'm guessing the front has been Z'd? How was the rear suspension done? I think I'd pass on it. Don't know if I could even give 5k for somthing like that.

It still needs a lot of work and then your going to have to blow it all back apart for paint and powder. Lots of time and time is money. If that's what you really want I'd start fresh. At least then you know what your getting into. I'm sure you could locate a factory crew if you looked hard enough. Still going to need the sub doors grafted on though.

What was the factory option code for the crewcab so I can add it to my custom version? Never knew there was a factory version?

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

Well guys I think I have made a deal with him on it. First off im keeping my wheels off the Blazer and he is giving me the crew cab plus a 72 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 6in lift and 37inI tires with factory air. And a bunch of parts including two more front clips and hoods. I was very skeptical with the metal skills the owner has by looking at the tranny tunnel but he sent me pictures of the underside and his frame work is beautifu. It is z 'd front and rear. The plan is to pick both trucks up Sunday. Thanks for all the comments but don't stop now keep them coming.

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

Now you have another project to add to your list in your signature. Congrats on the deal, I say go for it! Could be fun to build the Crew into a 4x4.

When you get it you should stretch the frame to accept standard size swb bed is it on a longhorn frame now or something

Thats not a real crew, its a burb thats been hacked. They did built real crews but they were real 4 door trucks......

Hart Rod has one and there is the other style is Scotti Built trucks.

Re: 72 Crew cab on trade?

Looks cool, but needs a ton of work. Main thing is build quality and welding and how the air setup was done and cab work. If you're getting two trucks, I hope the other truck is in daily driver quality and not a rust bucket. If it's all good then I'd say the trade could be ok due to the amount of time and work it takes to make a crewcab.

Good luck with the new trucks...make sure you take lots of pics and post them up.
