I just put a new ignition switch in my truck and when I turn the key to start, it cranks it over and starts fine but the brake warning light comes on. Is it supposed to do that??? Another question I have, can I get a new lock tumbler to fit my original key? For some reason someone installed a whole new assembly from a different truck so the ignition key doesn't match the key to my doors. Someone told me if I take it to a locksmith with my original key that they can change the tumblers out to match it, is that right?

Can't help with the second one, but yes, the brake light is supposed to come on when you crank it over...that is a bulb check.

Yes you can get a, notice I said A lock, lock rekeyed to match your key. Whether you can get your lock rekeyed or have to buy a new lock depends on if you old key will fit your newer lock.

OK, thanks for the info guys. I just checked and my door key won't even fit in the ignition so I'd need a new lock assembly to match it. The keys are different letters, the original key is J, and the ignition is C.
