on the battery cable positive there is a small wire like #12 or 14 size that goes about 6-8" to a small bakelight block with a stud in the center. could somebody tell me the purpose of this and where it goes ?

Re: whats this wire for ?

I think your talking about the junction block on the passenger fender. It is a distribution block for positive power wiring. Look up some schematics here if you'd like to know where those wires go.

It's also entirely possible you have an aftermarket positive cable with a small gauge lead that runs anywhere a previous owner wanted it to.

Re: whats this wire for ?

Probably the charge wire for your battery ,, they were ridiculously small from the factory

Thumbs up Re: whats this wire for ?

The block on the passenger side fender is to attach hot wires off of instead of the battery it self.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

the gray ones your battery charge wire/ power to fuse block , the black one Im not sure traced it back the loom to a junction by my horn relay , unhooked it , cant figure what it was , it was defiantly factory installed just like the picture , on a 67 , have not had an issue , there was a small glass fuse in it

those glass fuses are for your amp meter there should be one on each side of the engine compartment

Never knew this! Exactly where are these fuses? Might be why my amp meter doesn't work.

Re: whats this wire for ?

I just replaced one today. Just look in the corner next to the pos. battery terminal. Follow the small gauge wire coming off the little distribution block there.
Then look in the area of the voltage regulator. Same size and color, same style pull-apart in-line fuse holder.
