New member with truck

Hey guys. A member here, Tx Firefigther, is a member at my regular board (www.advrider.com) and referred me after I posted a thread about my truck.

I've been lurking for the past week and have found this resource every illuminating.

Anyway, on with the pics! I picked up this 1972 C20 locally. It's a runner, with a 454 mated to a 4 speed SM456. It's running two straight pipes off the long tube headers -- a little two loud for my tastes! It's been an Arizona truck since 1972, so I believe it qualifies as "rust-free."

The paint is OK for a beater, but I imagine I'll have it painted (or try the rustoleum) in the future. Right now it isn't charging the battery, but I believe I've diagnosed the alternator as the problem and will be replacing soon.

Frame looks like this all over. No rust or rot.

The bench and foam is in good shape. My wife is making a seat-cover for it.

Would love to hear your comments!

Nah, they have so many nice old cars and trucks in AZ they will give you a couple hundred to take them away !!! LOL they will trade rust free 55 chevys for a good rebuildable 350 core, right ? Maybe not, but that is a sweet looking truck, glad to see it! and WELCOME !!!

Nice truck. Its nice to see another advrider.com on this site.

My nick name on advrider is umm.. spinning wheels.

Guess I lack imagination when it comes to names. But it sure makes it easier to remember

Rear looks like a Dana 60. If it's got a fill plug in the cover, then that's what it is. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
