i have a aftermarket deck and speakers in there but i tend to find myself just driving for the pure enjoyment of hearing my motor and exhaust. just crusing down the road with nothing but the sound of wind, motor and the open road.

this is what it's all about.

I listen to the radio delete plate rattle on the dash, and when I'm really bored, I'll rearrange the magnetic St Christophers I have arranged on it.

I get bored. I have an active mind. I need more than an engine running for 2 hours on a trip to entertain me. I always have a decent cd player/speakers in all my vehicles. I also took my cherry bombs off my truck because they were too loud. Couldn't hear the stereo. "To each his own"

My truck is not my daily driver, I do have radio in it but its not connected. I just drive my truck for just the enjoyment.

Header mufflers! Can't hear the stereo on the hiway.I have 200 watt amp,and it sounds like crap on the hiway,so I don't really worry about it.
I did pick up some turbo mufflers,and 2 5' sections of pipe so I hope the junker will be quieter next weekend

I cant think of a time im in my vehicle when i DONT have the radio on. Unless i hear a suspicous noise that needs my attention i got the tunes a crankin.

I don't listen to my radio much just cause I got hooker super comp headers and the pipes stop right behind my cab even though I does have dynomax mufflers on it you can't hear it because all its got is 2 crappy 6's. on;y one of which works. Not for long though! It'll have a 1000 watt amp pushin 2 800 watt 12" subs then 2 400 watt 6x9's up front, and maybe a tweeter or 2. along with a nice head unit. That's a lot of power for just country music lol. I might rock it out every now and then

I love the fact that I get a huge discount on Pioneer equiment.

I also one that doesn't drive a vehicle without the radio on. Same for the garage, the radio is always on, in fact most times I have the radio from the vehicle I'm working on playing. The truck is the only one without a CD player, just can't bring myself to cut the dash.

I could never turn the stereo up enough without the speakers distorting or sounding hi-pitched at highway speeds to hear it very good

So unless i was in town i always lisetned to headers and dual Flowmasters. Now the truck has no radio at all, lol.

I seem to listen to the radio during the winter or with friends. Alone and in the summer, every vent and window gets flung open and radio goes off.

I can't hear the thing on the highway, so I don't even try.

My answer would normally be not very often or just talk radio to break the silence. But back in June I bought Sirius Satellite radio for the suburban. From there I went and bought two 10" Subs, 2 Sony 6x9's and two amps totalling 1400 watts.

I am rolling with the big dog now and I feel 20 again (real age is 34). So to answer your question. yes all the time now. And unless the ol' big block makes a weird sound, I am constantly turning even higher (like 11). LOL hahahaha

i listen to my radio cranked up almost all the time, but yes i do every now and then just turn it off to hear my exhaust and engine.

I've gotta have the radio on, even on short trips. I used to just listen to the flowmasters, but now the sound is getting old. It is my daily driver, and sometimes drive it the 80 mile round trip to college.

When i have tunes that I can hear over the engine, i listen all the time. More and more I find myself getting totally p!ssed at the retarded comercials, and I'll turn off the radio and not even notice untill I get to my destination.
however, When I don't have a workign stereo (like now) or the times when my exhaust is too loud to hear the tunes, then i just roll with it and never miss it.
Once I had my stack of CD's sittin by the drivers seat, pointed the blazer north and drove from Tx to Ohio...26 hrs on the road non stop (family really slows down traveling) and the stereo wasn't turned on at all. Didn't even miss it.

I can't do that....i need to hear something. All summer i drove 8-13 hours a day, 5-days a week for work in a '92 Astro van with just a radio. I found myself getting really pissed off at the lack of variety on the local radio stations....too much classic rock, light rock, pop, and country. Quite often i'd get mad and turn on NPR to lisetn to their news programs or classical music. But it is nice to have no noise at all sometimes.

I have well over a hundred CD's in my car now so i'm always lisetning to something. I don't turn on the radio unless i get really bored with my selection. I'm also working on a car-puter with a 40 gig hard drive...should hold all of my music (over 5,000 songs, lots of variety), plug into the back of my headunit with some RCA cables, and give me a huge selection of seamless commercial free music.
