66 C10 LS Turbo Build
Had the truck for a few years now and decided to turbo LS. Also do a short bed conversion. Just wanted to do a build thread to keep track of what I did and hopefully get motivated by positive responses when I'm lacking..lol
I know I will be learning new things and may teach a few things along the way. I have lots of experience with turbos and tuning, so this should go well. However, I have never built a 66 C10 before and will need some help. The truck was a frame off in the late 80's early 90's and is very solid. The fenders and part of one rocker are starting to rust, so i will be addressing those issues. I put new interior in it and bagged it last year. Time for the next level with LQ9, Upgraded brakes, SWB, and Wheel tubs! Here is my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNg..._as=subscriber I may update there, or even Vlog a little on this build. Haven't decided yet. Re: 66 C10 LS Turbo Build
Couple things done:
Sloppy Stage 2 cam installed Block cleaned and painted Heads cleaned and VC painted Assembly mock up for aesthetics...I went back and forth on the raw aluminum VC's vs painted and mounting of coils. Decided to paint both and seemed to turn out nice. Should get more done this weekend on the motor and maybe start tearing into the front clip. Last edited by Red66C10; 06-21-2018 at 09:49 PM. |

Re: 66 C10 LS Turbo Build
Keep the updates coming. I just ordered the Denmah 78/75 billet package from VS so I'll be referring to some of these build threads in a few months.

Re: 66 C10 LS Turbo Build
Here is a little update on the truck.
Everything is almost done as far as being N/A. I have had the truck running and sounds really good with this Sloppy stage 2 cam. Turbo piping is on order and I will fab all of the hot side first. I have a ford 9" and Wilwood brakes waiting, but i want to get this on the road first...Then get into phase 2 of this build...Stopping the beast!lol |
