Front Fender Seals
I'm just now replacing my front fender seals, which is kind of a pain, and as I'm looking at them I'm thinking - what do they actually seal? I don't see what they actually accomplish, except maybe keeping some road splash off the hinges. Does anyone know for sure?

Re: Front Fender Seals
I don't have them, but my understanding is that they were for lessening of wind and road noise.

If that's true, they're pretty much pointless for me. My Blazer is usually running without the top, so the door edge isn't going to contribute much. I'll probably reinstall them since I've bought them, but putting them together is a bit of work.

Re: Front Fender Seals
I left mine out of my '71 Cheyenne rebuild.
If I'm honest, I forgot to get them on before fitting and hanging the fenders and then I didn't want to pull the fenders again just for that small part. I'll keep them around in case I ever have to pull the fenders though. |

Re: Front Fender Seals
I ended up doing the driver's side, since I already had it apart. I left the old one on the passenger side. If I blow the truck apart in the future to paint it I might replace it.

Here is a thread that explains a little bit about them. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=330391 There are probably more threads if you do a search using the google search box above. Just be sure to click on the circle in front of "67-72chevytrucks.com" before you click on the "Google" button LockDoc

Re: Front Fender Seals
My truck came with the seals. I tried installing the repop seals and gave up! I will be running without the seals

Re: Front Fender Seals
I love this forum but I have to stop reading threads randomly to learn my truck is missing things!
I guess when they did the work on it, they decided not to put the seals on (unless my SPID is fake, it's a 72 Cheyenne).

Re: Front Fender Seals
You can feel for the holes in which the seals attach. Or open door and look between door and fender, you should be able to see them if there are there. That is assuming the truck came with them and they have not been filled in.There are a few better pics to show location out there, but I can send one if needed.
