Need to know stock wheel width 68 C20 16" rims - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Can anyone tell me the wheel width for the stock wheels on a 67 C20 with 16" rims? I want to replace the tires from 235/85/16 to 265/75/16 but not sure if the stock rims are wide enough for the wider tires.

Any help is appreciated.

You can use a 6.5-7" rim for those tires. They arent that wide. I think the stock late model wheels are 6.5's

The stock wheel I "think" is a 16.5. I may be wrong, but I dont believe they had 16" wheels in '67. If they are 16.5's then use a 9.50x16.5 radial tire.

BTW look on the rim around the outer lip and it will usually tell you the size.

if it is a 16 inch, then it's a split rim, and should be thrown away in all reality. You probably wouldn't even find a tire place that'd even consider doing that.

If its a 2-piece rim with a lock-ring, it a split rim. if its a one piece 16in. rim, then your all set, 265s will mount fine.
